I want to thank our entire community for participating in PANS PANDAS Awareness Day yesterday. Your posts, lights, and conversations made a powerful impact.
Today is World Mental Health Day, and we encourage you to keep the conversation going — especially about the ways neuroimmune conditions like PANS and PANDAS affect mental health. We’ll be sharing a few posts about that today, along with more photos from the global #LightUp4PANS campaign and related news stories. Please share them to help spread awareness even further!
A note of encouragement: Healing is possible — even if it follows a slow, saw-tooth path. Keep exploring your path to recovery. Often, there isn’t one single provider with all the answers, and it can feel impossible to assemble a care team. But every step forward, no matter how small, matters.
If you’re new to PANS/PANDAS, take some time to learn about the symptoms — many families are surprised by how broad they are. Understanding the whole picture can help make sense of behaviors, signs, and challenges. You’ll also find helpful tools, such as our symptom tracker and rating scale, on our website, along with sections on diagnosis, treatment, and behavioral health.
Explore our resources: webinars, handouts, school information (including in-services), and our ASPIRE ChitChat support meetings. We’re currently responding to hundreds of messages and emails — thank you for your patience as we catch up. In the meantime, please explore the many resources on our website that may answer your questions.
Let’s continue to move mountains together — to shorten the time between symptom onset and appropriate treatment and support. Your continued engagement and support make our work possible. 💛
With gratitude,
Gabriella
