SUMMARY:Eating Disorder Awareness Day
DESCRIPTION:ASPIRE is a NEDAwareness Week Organizational Partner. \nOne of the primary symptoms of PANS is Severe Eating Restriction. SUMMARY:Rare Disease Day 2021
DESCRIPTION:ASPIRE is proud to be included as a friend of NORD’s Rare Disease Day efforts.\nPANDAS\, by its strictest criteria\, is still considered to be rare. PANS includes a much broader range of triggers\, etiologies\, and disease mechanisms\, which many feel encompasses a larger population and that\, indeed\, it is not rare but unfortunately rarely diagnoses. Find more about PANS/PANDAS at ASPIRE. The NIH’s Rare Disease website lists ASPIRE as a resource for PANS. \nFor More details: https://aspire.care/featured/rare-disease-day-2021/

SUMMARY:PANDAS Italia - Management of the psychological & behavioral aspects of PANS in the family and school context
DESCRIPTION:PANDAS Italia’s Second Meeting on “Management of the psychological and behavioral aspects of PANS in the family and school context” \nFriday\, October 9\, 2020 at 9 AM – 1 PM UTC \n\n“L’incontro si propone\, col tempo\, di aiutare i genitori nella gestione dei bambini affetti da PANDAS e PANS (BGE) nell’ambito familiare e scolastico\, data la scarsissima conoscenza dell’argomento in Europa e in Italia. L’obiettivo finale che ci proponiamo è quello di arrivare ad elaborare\, da parte dei professionisti\, almeno delle linee di indirizzo per la famiglia e per la scuola. Siamo consapevoli che occorrerà tempo\, molto e lavoro\, collaborazione e disponibilità da parte di psicoterapeuti\, psicologi ed eventualmente pedagogisti\, nonché dei genitori\, alcuni dei quali potrebbero aver trovato efficaci alcune strategie che vorremmo condividessero a fine incontro. L’evento è gratuito e tutti possono partecipare. Sarà possibile chiedere la registrazione dell’evento. Saranno resi visibili solo i volti dei relatori. Per informazioni e iscrizioni inviare mail a  PANDAS Italia“ \nVia Google Translate\n“The meeting aims\, over time\, to help parents in the management of children with PANDAS and PANS (BGE) in the family and school\, given the very limited knowledge of the subject in Europe and Italy. The final goal that we propose is to arrive at the development\, by professionals\, of at least guidelines for the family and for the school. We are aware that it will take time\, a lot and work\, collaboration and availability on the part of psychotherapists\, psychologists and possibly pedagogues\, as well as parents\, some of whom may have found some strategies effective that we would like them to share at the end of the meeting. The event is free and everyone can participate. It will be possible to request registration of the event. Only the faces of the speakers will be made visible. For information and registration\, send an email to PANDAS Italia.” \n

SUMMARY:May is Mental Health Month
DESCRIPTION:May is Mental Health Month \n \nDuring May\, ASPIRE joins the national movement to raise awareness about mental health. Each year we fight stigma\, provide support\, educate the public and advocate for policies that support people with PANS/PANDAS and their families. Many Mental health issues\, like PANS/PANDAS/Autoimmune Encephalitis\, have a biological basis and should be treated like other medical illness not only as a mental health issue. Mental Health is Medical Health. Learn More about PANS/PANDAS at https://aspire.care/

SUMMARY:Rare Disease Day
DESCRIPTION:Whether you think PANS/PANDAS is a Rare Disease or actually just rarely diagnosed\, it is a day to educate people about PANS/PANDAS. The main objective of Rare Disease Day is to raise awareness amongst the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients’ lives. \nAs part of this discussion\, this day is a perfect time to talk about EQUITY. Equity for people living with a rare disease is equitable access to Diagnosis\, Treatment\, Health\, Social Care and Opportunity. As we speak to schools\, doctors\, legislators\, it is important to address issues of EQUITY and our lack of access to it. At ASPIRE\, we aspire to Equity for all those affected by PANS/PANDAS. Will you join us in this effort? \nFind more about PANS/PANDAS at www.ASPIRE.care \nAlso\, PANS is listed under the NIH’s Rare Disease website and is a good resource. \nhttps://rarediseases.info.nih.gov/diseases/13087/pans \nFor more information on Rare Disease Day: www.rarediseaseday.org
